In 1893, Gandhi is thrown off a South African train for being an Indian and traveling in a first class compartment. Gandhi realizes that the laws are biased against Indians and decides to start a non-violent protest campaign for the rights of all Indians in South Africa. After numerous arrests and the unwanted attention of the world, the government finally relents by recognizing rights for Indians, though not for the native blacks of South Africa. After this victory, Gandhi is invited back to India, where he is now considered something of a national hero. He is urged to take up the fight for India's independence from the British Empire. Gandhi agrees, and mounts a non-violent non-cooperation campaign of unprecedented scale, coordinating millions of Indians nationwide. There are some setbacks, such as violence against the protesters and Gandhi's occasional imprisonment. Nevertheless, the campaign generates great attention, and Britain faces intense public pressure. Too weak from World War II to continue enforcing its will in India, Britain finally grants India's independence. Indians celebrate this victory, but their troubles are far from over. Religious tensions between Hindus and Muslims erupt into nation-wide violence. Gandhi declares a hunger strike, saying he will not eat until the fighting stops. The fighting does stop eventually, but the country is divided. It is decided that the northwest area of India, and eastern part of India (current day Bangladesh), both places where Muslims are in the majority, will become a new country called Pakistan (West and East Pakistan respectively). It is hoped that by encouraging the Muslims to live in a separate country, violence will abate. Gandhi is opposed to the idea, and is even willing to allow Muhammad Ali Jinnah to become the first prime minister of India, but the Partition of India is carried out nevertheless. Gandhi spends his last days trying to bring about peace between both nations. 非暴力 一个自己做衣服的男人
个人感觉吧不错的了，而且还算有意思的
我发现了，想了解一个人或一段历史，看一百部电影不如读一本书～
印度特别离奇，但甘地仍是伟人
看了一个半小时看不进去，等下次心平静下来了再看吧
挺无聊的，主要是不关心这个国家
也就是面对想要保持文明的政府 甘地能取得如此效果了 要是放在一个新闻媒体高度管控噤声的国家 别说演讲游行了 恐怕军队枪杀手无寸铁的平民这样的事情也不会有人知道
甘地的非暴力不合作思想至今依然具有指导意义

只有真理和爱长存
想起罗德里格兹，在瞩目背后甘于回归平淡质朴的本质。
看了4天终于看完了 以前的人拍电影=我的vlog, 努力拍了，从头拍到尾但是无聊 现在人拍电影=网红的vlog, 故事不一定讲明白了但是有趣 btw, 甘地真是个大好人
作为电影平铺直叙的有点无聊甘地这么想想真是个伟人，国内关于他的讨论一直不多感觉理想化的理念如何在现实政治中发挥作用但是不是也是契合了殖民体系崩溃的时期，毕竟那么多地方没有甘地也独立了
作为传记片是优秀的：很多场面和历史书上的照片几乎一模一样，对历史或人物传记感兴趣的人，本片是福音。但对我这样的学渣来说太长也太枯燥了（虽然三小时表现甘地的一生也未必能全面），而且就症痣人物而言，光环式杜撰不会少（别问我怎么知道的），当历史课本看吧。
电影并没有带观众触及到他的灵魂，没有讲清楚为什么会有非暴力不合作的理念，在后期穆斯林和印度教徒裂隙加深时，是否自己的想法会受到自我怀疑？如果相信自己的人民或者相信自己的影响力，为什么会愿意把巴基斯坦分裂出去？有太多历史的复杂性没有触及了，我想看的不是一部歌功颂德的电影。
甘地一出场，金句就登场，不靠暴力全靠嘴炮的精神感召。左手“精神”右手“行动”，两手都要抓两手都要硬，两个“战场”配合才能利益最大化。
不义不可忍受 不义必须被揭示
“在历史上，只有真理和爱能得胜。历史上有很多暴君和凶手，在短期内或许是所向无敌的，但是终就总是会失败。”甘地最为著名的就是历史课本里捎带提到的不抵抗运动，实现印度的独立，但真的仔细通过电影去展示时完全颠覆我的认知，毕竟我们从小被教育到“枪杆子里出政权”，几次不抵抗运动彻底震撼了我，这才是甘地最伟大和特殊的一面，这就是所谓道德制高点的蔑视，让敌人羞愧至死。甘地主义三板斧，自力更生、不抵抗、绝食，以一己之力化解印度教徒和穆斯林之间的冲突，这一刻他就是神在人间，可他终就是个凡人，压的了一时，还是毁在他极力保护的人手里。“好好想一想，永远都是这样”
